Family Decrees + Declaration
The church as we know it did not start with congregations, pastors, or events. It began with family. God's first interaction with man has to do with creating the family. The Lord saw Adam and said, "it's not good for man to be alone" (See Gen 2:18), and Eve is created. God uses families to perform His desires here on the earth. They were instructed to be fruitful and multiply or, in other words, start and grow their family.
The Old Testament is full of types and shadows that point to Jesus. God had commissioned Noah to build the ark for his FAMILY and the other living creatures to escape the devastation of the flood (see Gen 6). The ark that Noah built was a type of salvation and a preview of Jesus, who would come and rescue us from sin and eternal destruction. God established His covenant with Noah and his family (see Gen 6:18). We and the earth as we know it is due to the obedience and covenant established between Noah's family and God. That's the power and importance of family. Abraham, the Father of faith, received a promise from the Lord regarding his family. Isaac's birth was a miracle and a fulfillment of the agreement God made with Abraham and Sarah. Notice, God's focus was building a family that out of it would birth nations.
God then asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, the promise, and he obeyed. However, God intervened and spared Isaac and offered them a ram (see Gen 22). Because of their obedience, Abraham and Sarah's family unlocked blessing to the nation.
"All nations on earth will be blessed because you have obeyed me" Genesis 22:18
Wow! Their family causes nations to be blessed. We know that "God shows no partiality" (see Act 10:34); if Abraham's family unlocked blessing to the earth, think of what gifts your family is destined to provide to the world.
The New Testament is full of examples as well. Mary, the mother of Jesus, is visited by an angel who announced Jesus would be born of a virgin. Our Lord and Savior chose to make His grand appearance to humankind through a family! When God wants to get things done on the earth, He uses families! We see this theme continued throughout the bible.
Revival is here!
However, it will not be limited to a specific location, denomination, or church movement. Revival is birthing in the family! Family is so vital to what God desires to perform in the earth.
We must partner with heaven and contend for our family's.
If we are going to see revival in our Nations, we must pray for our families.
How do you partner with heaven?
Heaven is where God abides. Jesus is at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for you and me. He has announced in heaven the purpose for your life and family. You must now come into agreement with heaven by declaring it here in the earth. Jesus explains this process in the Lord's Prayer.
"Thy kingdom come your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" Mathew 6:10.
We are to pray, decree, and declare what heaven says regarding our family here on earth.
What is a decree?
According to Google's dictionary, the word decree is defined as "an official order issued by a legal authority. In this case, we are not limited to man's power. We are declaring God's words who is the ultimate authority over everything. So, in essence, whatever is not in alignment with what God is saying regarding your family must change.
When we decree what heaven is saying, we declare God's will to be done in earth as it is in heaven.
"Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways." Job 22:28
When you decree God's words, you establish and provide the light needed to discover and fulfill your family's purpose.
"so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Isaiah 55:11
As I began to petition for revival in America, Holy Spirit whispered that revival is starting in families. I asked, "how will this revival of families start?" Holy Spirit responded, "their expectation and language regarding their families must align with what God has declared in heaven." Then He revealed 30 powerful decrees to declare and pronounce over family—one decree for each day of the month.
As believers, we can't wait for the culture to adjust to our Christian beliefs. We must rise and take back our families and lift the standard of Christ in our homes.
"But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15
Let's declare!
